  1. Sunscreen!

Sunscreen! For some, it's an afterthought, a sporadic addition to the daily routine. But, if you’re one of those women who occasionally—or heaven forbid, never— reaches for that bottle, consider this your wake up call. No matter your complexion, sunscreen is your best friend. I’ve tested many over the years, but let me tell you, once I found the one, I knew I’d never need to look elsewhere again. This is this only sunscreen that doesn’t leave a silver cast on my face and blends in effortlessly.

2.Vitamins

I must confess: while I never miss a day of giving my children their vitamins, my own intake was, shall we say, sporadic at best. So, every morning as I dole out vitamin gummies and Vitamin D drops (my pediatrician specifically recommended these so check with your child’s pediatrician) to my little ones, I now place my own on the counter and take it with them. It’s a little ritual that not only benefits me, but sets a good example for them.

So, why not talk to your Doctor, get those blood tests, and discover exactly what your body needs? This brand is my go-to for keeping myself on track.

3.Fitness

Continuing with the health essentials, exercise! There has to be daily movement. Going for a walk, yoga, Youtube videos, the gym—whatever works for you! If you’re like me and yoga is your favorite way to move, here are my go-to yoga mats (extra thick for comfort). And my new favorite instructor, Charlie, is here! I also love a good workout with growwithjo, for anyone in need of a great recommendation.

4.Planner or Journal

Planning your days and organizing your thoughts are crucial at any age, but especially in your 30s. Even in my late 20s, if I didn’t write something down, chances were I’d forget it. Now, I rely on my Reminders app to jot down groceries as I run out of them, creating a ready-made list for shopping day.

Call me old-fashioned, but I still love using a planner to map out my next day or week and keep track of my to-do lists.

I love my planner because it comes in different sizes, easy to bring along with me!

5.Books

This is a big one, so I’m glad it’s the last one you’re reading. I hope it sticks! Reading can be therapeutic, educational, inspirational, or simply entertaining. Whatever your preference, pick up a book. You won’t regret it.

I’m a fan of the inspirational, and my last great read was Big Magic. That book was truly inspirational to me, sparking creativity and encouraging me to embrace my curiosity.

As we navigate our 30s, it's essential to prioritize our health, organization, fitness, and inspiration. From taking our vitamins and finding the right workout routine to planning our days and diving into a good book, these small but impactful habits can make all the difference. These basic essentials keep us grounded, energized, and ready to tackle whatever comes our way.
